Maria is a genius! She made the most perfect cake just this last weekend for my Mother-in-law and her twin sister to celebrate their 80th birthday: well two cakes actually, an 8 and a 0 with fantastic sugar caricatures of the two ladies in question perched on the side of each cake. It looked both elegant and great fun. Everyone admired it and the two birthday girls were absolutely thrilled to bits. And to top it all, both cakes, one lemon and one plain, tasted absolutely yummy.
